I'm planning next year's season. My first IM race is in October (Great Floridian). I'm thinking of doing IM Coeur d'Alene in June, 2008 and then IM Florida in November, 2008. Is there some obvious reason why this is a bad idea?

If you cann recover why not? Given the time between the two races you are picking There's is more than enough time to to recover and resume training. I'm doing two races this year (IM Australia done 4/07 and IM Canada upcoming 8/26/07). I had a bit of a tough time getting remotivated to get back training after Australia (particularly because the weather here was still sucking after i got back). Beware the couch potato virus after the IM.

Nope... 2 in a year, especially with that spacing, should be fine.

Remember many of the people in Kona had to do another IM earlier in the year to qualify for that one, and many do so year after year.

Yeah, I did IM Arizona in April and will be doing IM Hawaii in October. Took a couple of weeks off after IM Arizona to recover though. I'm actually about to go into full IM training again this week.

Hey, good luck in IM CDA this week.
