Grrrrr
I forgot a helmet one time, was 4 hours away from home, and as far as I knew, all the stores were closed by the time I realized. I drove up to a wal-mart, 30 minutes away, which I was sure would be closed, but they weren't quite done closing, and the manager was extremely reasonable to let me buy a cheap helmet so I could race. That was going to suck.
Hope you didn't have to race nekked.

I don't need to get faster, I just need to get older!
I hope it worked out!

Oh man, Kevin... How did you make out??
found a 24 hour walmart where i bought a pair of swim trunks. and changed into a pair of basketball shorts in a porta potty for the rest of the race. It was a sprint distance so it wasnt pretty.
Tomorrow is the Hy-Vee world cup and this time, I have my tri suit!!
ahh the little things in life that make us happy. you don't realize how important everything is until you dont have it.

Well at least you made it on the field dude..
This is one reason why, once in a while, it's refreshing to do an "open" event (i.e. a 10K) - less "stuff" to remember. The equipment related stress you deal with in the hours before an open event doesn't even approach what you encounter for a tri.
You should have gone with a Faris Al Sultan look and race with a speedo!!!!! :D
Hyperactive Trifueler!!!! (I refuse to let the status go :p)

consider this post a vent of frustration.
I am staying with a friend tonight about 3 hours away from my house for a tri tomorrow morning. I am laying out everything and wait.... my trisuit.... where did it go? OMG it is sitting on my bed at home!!! I of course brought NOTHING else, not a pair of tri shorts, not even a dri fit t-shirt. I literally have nothing. My only hope to actually even race tomorrow is get there when the gates open at 5 and pray there is actually a vendor there with something that fits.
so as the title says GRRRRR.
Oh and my friend has no cycling, swimming or running gear of any kind. I already went through everything he owns.
