What's ANT?
Found it: http://www.thisisant.com/index.php?section=30
It's basically digital radio system tech.
Uh... Carry on.
Look at the polar s150
Heart rate functions are Average Heart rate, Max and % of Max Heart Rate and Recovery Heart Rate. The S150 has three target zones with audible and visual alarms, count up/down timers, 50 lap splits that display exercise time, lap time, heart rate and average heart rate. Full function watch with alarm, 2 time zones and calendar with weekday indicator.

The S150 looks good. The only thing I don't like is the 31coded strap as I have issues with garbage reading from the one I have. I've swapped mine with my wifes and get the same problems. Plus my Polar the screen freezes then resets once in a while, it has lost a button and is a pain to replace the battery. :(
Here is a link to ANT http://www.thisisant.com/index.php?section=30 made by Dynastream.
I should say ANT like accuracy and robustness. I think Polar has W.I.N.D.?
I should add to my prior specs user replacable battery.
hard to please eh?:)

Indeed - I had an S150 and was very disappointed. Its readings were inconsistent. It read other peoples' heart rates more than mine. During long runs, HR readings of zero or 200+ were common.
Sorry I don't have a recommendation for a reliable, cheap HRM, except - don't get the S150!
I'm confused. The RS200s are additions to the Polar product line than the S150 and should be better....do you currently have a cycling specific model that sits on your stem or bars or is this a running one? RS = Running Series, CS = Cycling Series. Maybe you have an S210? Anyway...
Depending on how old your unit is, you may have a chest strap that is not coded to aviod cross talk (the early edition hard plastic ones). All Polar chest straps (the wearlink models http://www.shoppolar.com/_polarelectrostore/cgi-bin/pd.cgi?frompage=category&page=product_detail&fromcategory=Accessories&category=Accessories&pid=F2222RUW6DQH96CQ3BF)
are now specifically coded to not received interference. That said, you might still get erratic readings if you are under power lines or if you don't have good contact between the strap and your chest (wetting the strap down is helpful).
If what you are looking for is more of a cycling specific one Polar does offer some digital sensors that are not much bigger than your 'enter' key on your keyboard, and which you can put any where on your chainstay or seatstay to digitally send and receive your cadence and speed data for you to view on the handlebar mounted computer.

I'm in the market for a new HRM. I have a Polar RS200d right now. What I would like for features are ANT (have problems with the 31 polar sometimes giving bad hr data), lap and the ability to store a couple workouts. Zones aren't needed or distance or interpretation of data or pc connection. I just want a basic HRM, but on that is going to give me accurate readings 99% of the time and stopwatch with laps.
The only one I've seen so far is the Suunto T3 that has the ANT without all the gizmos. Anyone know of any others?
Thanks,
Chris
