Free Yoga sessions, full sessions, just click on the download center up top.
Doing this every other day has completely changed my flexibility and a bit of my stability.
Did I mention it was FREE ohh and it's a new episode daily as well as you can access old episodes.
(I'm not affiliated with yogatoday, I'm just a user with a positive experience)
Yoga for flexibility and pilates for strength. I think they're both a great addition (be careful not to make them a replacement, though :)) to a training regimen and do them on my own almost every day. I get comments on how low I can get my aero position all the time. I have a ten-inch drop from my saddle to my bars, and interestingly enough, I put out more power there than I do with a smaller drop or sitting up.

Not fast enough.
My workplace offers free yoga classes. I was thinking of taking one.
I think it's tricky to find good classes. I think they should be more specific with the way they label yoga classes. They always have weird names that I don't understand. Hippy yoga and Fitness yoga would be much more descriptive. I hope you like the one at work and they keep the chanting of "namaste" to a minimum. :D

Yoga has made a huge difference for me on flexibility, balance and also focus.
I started with an instructor, because I wanted to make sure I did the movements properly, and once I knew the poses and became more confident, I went on my own. I didn't know the website Yoga Today, and I'm curious to see what the sessions look like, thanks for the link, Jagerstar!

YOGATODAY user here too.
It´s a full hour class for free. I have taken "live" lessons at my local gym and have to say that YogaToday is GREAT. The only thing you have to be aware of is that there are 3 different difficulty levels. You want to start with the easy ones.
I do Yoga one time a week and has kept me injury free.

Agreed on the difficulty on yogatoday
If you are just starting out, stay with the beginner type sessions, the other ones will kick your ass.
One thing I don't care much for the yogotoday is spirituality-ness behind it. Sometimes I'm in a horrible position and they are talking about the clouds etc, and that's when I'm not in the mood to hear about that stuff (minor pet peeve but there it is).

I agree with that! The only thing you have to remember is that they are actual Yoga lessons so that is what they are supposed to be like. They are not regular Power Yoga lessons like the ones gyms have. Nor are they oriented for any type of athlete or triathletes like us.
The bottom line is they are very good classes, they are free and they WILL help you a lot.

Another one that's decent is Yoga for Athletes by Rodney Yee. They're more sport specific. I wish I had room for yoga in my new apartment. Guess I should unpack...
I'm all for the spirituality of it. It's basically a way to relax the mind from all the crap we have racing through it all day, every day. Helps me refocus. Sometimes I wish I could fall asleep in there afterwards because I'm sooo relaxed.
Most of the time though, I feel like a giddy little child after yoga. It must be all of those toxins it releases.

Yoga is excellent. I am more flexible now than I was as a teenager. I am also injury free. It really makes you feel wonderful when you are done:)
I agree with the Yoga DVD by Rodney Yee. He is my favorite too. After the kids get to bed, I unroll the yoga mat and do the Yoga workout. Rodney always does his taping in Hawaii so it is motivational too.
I hate yoga - but I know it's good for me. I do it sporadically (like maybe once/month) but some day I'll do it regularly :)
I do Yogalatis (yeah, great word) shortly before competitions (ok, I do competitions every 2 weeks basically). I think it is a great way to relax my muscles without getting muscle pain and Pilates is a great balance work out. I love it!:p
Best yoga you can do to prepare for being bent over on your aerobars: slouch at work for 8 hrs a day. ;)
Greatness is only achieved by those who perpetually raise the expectations of themselves to the point where it ruins their life.
Small update, been doing yogatoday.com for about a week or so and loving it. I download the videos so I can skip the ads =).
I have already started noticing the difference in flexibility. However, it is tough to get into the mindset they have sometimes.
Thanks for the advice and i recommend that website for anyone wanting to start out.

For a long time people have been telling me about the benefits of doing yoga. especially that there are certain positions and stretches yoga uses that greatly help with the aero position as well as all around swimming just from being more flexible. I have tried searching the web for some sort of tutorial or at least some pictures of what positions help the multisport athlete but have come up empty. All the sites seem to want money before they teach you a single thing. I was wondering if anyone has found anything they like to use or maybe a book that really helped them.
