Hi everybody:
Since it's a little risky riding on weekdays in my hometown, I've been wondering if getting the Spinervals DVD's is a good choice, so I can get good trainer workouts without risking my life on the roads.
I'd read about Tough Love (#13) and Time Trial Special (#2 and #14).
I'd like to know, are they worth the cost, or are there better choices on the market, even if they're videos or books?
Thanks in adavance :) .
Yes, they are good. You might want to have a few of them to mix the workouts up because they could get very repetitive after a while. Our group has Tough Love, it's good
I think they are worth it. You can get a very focused w/o on the trainer.
As to which one, really depends on what you are working on and what part of the season you are in: i.e. lots of good base building DVDs, hill climbing, intervals, long (5+ hour) workouts - pretty much whatever you want to work on, they have a video for it. Also having several is good, so have some variety.
I will typically do at least one or so a week throughout the season.
My biking has improved by doine one or two days a week of these spinervals. Like someone said I mix them up depending on where I am at in my training. "Tough Love" is really good even if you only have time to do part of it. I think it teach a "hang on" mental discipline too. And, it is pretty safe. I have only crashed once on my trainer but landed on the carpet.
I really enjoy using them. The Virtual Training ride series is real fun.
