Here are three that I came across:

GU flask w/bike mount

Nashbar flask w/bike mount

Hammer flask w/bike mount

Any opinions or other recommendations?

The GU mount looks the most hassle free and secure to me and is the front runner.

Is a bike mount even a good or the best way to use gels during a race/workout?

I've also seen people run with a belt that holds the flask, is this a good idea too?

It seems convenient to me, but I've never tried it.

A gel flask on the top tube is awesome for racing and training. Less clutter than a Bento Box, always there to remind you to take a hit. When Irun, I stick the flask in the pocket on my fuel blet if I am going long and need fluid/nutrition. At a race, I'll carry the flask in a pocket.

You may also want to consider taping individual gels to your top tube. That's what I do so I can have both the gels and the Bento box (which I to hold bars, crackers, etc for IM). I use electrical tape to tape just the very top portion so that when I pull the gu packet up against the tape, the top tears off and I have an open packet of gu in my hand. Yum.

i bought the GU flask and found that it kept twisting around on the top tube and hitting my knee. It just didnt seem that secure. I picked up the Hammer flask and LOVE it, it doesn't budge :)

I use a gelflask (pocket) and a bento box (so I can carry other suff if i need other stuff) since I want the bento for longer races/rides it just works out well for me instead of attaching it to the frame
