I will be watching you from home at Kona dude...
Bryan,
The story about you and your mother would be great for one of the personal interest stories on NBC. Athough there is nothing wrong with it, I think the story of the disabled athlete competing in this event is getting rather old.
Sweet! ...ALL HAIL RED5...!
Way to go man.

Thanks everybody, it's a thrill for me too.
I appreciate that, Rob. I have been trying to get her story out there along with me in an effort to try and raise some sponsorship. Last year my company, UBS Financial Services, gave me $1000 to race and I'm hoping to land some bigger fish this year for Kona if I can, so all the press helps. Here are 2 links to form last year where I talked about her and her story as she tells it:

Of course it's 'effing hard, it's IRONMAN!
Stories like this act like a reset button on my "life's perspective" settings.
There are days when I want to gripe about some petty issues like a coworker being given an office better than mine and stories like these come accross my screen and into my head straight into my heart.
When I want to whine about a stiff ankle from a recovering sprain, I hear about vertebraes being fused and being thought dead after an accident to overcoming all of life's excuses to complete tris.
When I started this sport, it was an experiment in selfishness - which very well may be for many others. But along the way, I picked up these stories and they invigorate me more than any myth, legend, or religion. As a religious person myself, that's a little embarassing to admit, but it is true and I can't deny that.
This sport has definitely transcended my expectations as a merely physical activity.
