Do all Road Shoes go by the same size?

They're just like clothes...while they should run pretty close, there can be discrepancy between brands. The width, toe box room, general feel of the shoe, and other items will also determine if one shoe may be more comfortable for you over the other.
Since it's REI, you can simply either try the 47 or 48 and return it for the other if the fit isn't right, or buy both and return one...a fairly common practice in online shopping.

The reason I ask is because I am thinking about buying a nice pair of on sale road shoes on Rei-oultet.com.
I was at a bike shop this weekend and they measured my foot and the guy said a 47 is my size. But when I go to the website where I am going to buy these road shoes it says that I would need a 48. I am a size 13.
So do all road shoes go by the same size requirment? Meaning if I am a 47 in 1 shoe will I be a 47 in another? Thanks
