Olympic Nutrition - What's your plan?
(last year was my first year and my times ranged from 3:04 to 3:24 for olympic distance)
i like gatorade but i'm finding that i prefer it diluted by 25-50% depending on how long i'm exercising.
1 gel + some water 15 min prior to race
1 bottle of gatorade on the bike (but I carry two just in case)
1 cup of gatorade every aid station on the run + 1 cup of water over the head if it's warm
I do 50/50 gatorade mix. Gatorade endurance if it's hot.
1 gel before the race, 1 about halfway through the bike.
2-3 bottles on the bike, depending on the temperature (it's a lot, I know. I'm like a human camel). If I start to feel any cramping, I start pounding the stuff.
Same exact plan as tri-ac on the run.
Good luck!

I just did my first olympic 2 weeks ago. I had a stomache bug the week before so I didn't eat well that week or the night before but my race day looked like this:
Breakfast: Glass of OJ, 2 pieces white toast with jelly or honey.
About 20 minutes before start took 1 gel.
On bike had 1-24oz gatorade (red) and drank about 2/3 of it. Took one gel on bike about half way in and one about 5 minutes from T-2.
On run just hit some water at the 2nd and 4th miles.
Was out there for about 2:12 so I felt that was all I needed.
Good luck

I do this:
Night before - low fiber dinner... annie's mac and cheese is a favorite
Early morning - serving of my recovery drink mix, sometimes a little tea
During the drive up to right before the start, I sip on my regular infinit mix
During the race, 1.5-2 bottles of my infinit mix on the bike
a gulp of water at the aid stations on the run...
This has worked for me even for the race I did in the Alps that took about 3:05...
I do this:
Night before - low fiber dinner... annie's mac and cheese is a favorite
How does that annie's stuff stack up vs the craft mac and cheese (one of my weak spots  )?

Check out my blog!

Just signed up for my 1st Oly in Sept. and I am psyched! I haven't used anything in past races (sprint tri, 10K, half marathon, etc.) except Gatorade.
I know nutrition is different for everyone, but what do you typically use? I'm really slow, so I expect to be out there for 3.5 hours or so.
Thanks!
