Hey Everyone ,

I had been running in asics 2110 for the last year with quite good results (they're heavy but a good mileage show) I recently bought a pair of 2120's cause I couldn't get another pair of 2110's

Anyway, I been out for two runs in them and they are terrible, I mean they feel like wooden planks straped to my feet and everything seems to hurt after running in them.

I am just wondering if anyone else had problems switching from the 2110's to the 20's ? or am I just having a really bad week ?

Unfortunately, shoes are going to change from production run to production run and updates of popular shoes will sometimes turn out to be clunkers.

I try to keep up on the latest buyers reviews before I buy, but that doesn't always work. It's a shame when you have a favorite shoe and your new re-buys turn out to be lemons.

If you bought at a LRS, take them back in and explain your issues and if it's a good LRS they should offer an exchange or a credit towards a new different pair.

Sorry, didn't read the 2110, 2120 distinction correctly. I'd still try to take them back though.

I have not run in the 2120 yet so I can't answer your specific question. However, 2110s are available at Sierra Trading Post for $58.00: http://www.sierratradingpost.com/p/,96268_Asics-GT-2110-Gel-Running-Shoes-Stability-For-Men.html

Road Runner Sports sells "classics" at good prices The 2080 is $49.00: http://www.roadrunnersports.com/rrs/products/ASC620/

Thanks for the tips !

I ended up taking them back to my LRS and exchaging them for a completely different shoe, (actually went to a less stable shoe the brooks gylcerin) as I have flat feet but dont tend to pronate when running.

If these dont work out I will probably take your advice and order a pair of the old ones online

I have gone through 4 pair of the 2110's in the past year or so and I loved them for logging longer miles- hate to have to change now that I can't find them in my size. However when the 2120's came out, I tried them on and could tell they were not designed the same, didn't even like them on in the store.....so I stuck with the 2110. I had a pair of Brooks glycerine in the past...they were OK but they wear out quicker than asics.....my experiences anyway. Good luck shoe searching...it is trial and error sometimes.

My boyfriend has run in the 2120 series for a looong time and isn't a big fan of the 2120s. They are ok, but just a bit too wide for his foot. Be careful on the 2080s though -- apparently those were horrible and the worst they ever made. Might be why they are on sale and still available ;)

I think my 2120s are ok, but I think I like the fit of Brooks better. Heh... unlike "I du tri" above, I've had my brooks last much longer than my Asics :)

I wore 2080s when they were the current model and have had several pairs since and they worked well for me.

My running partner who is a very smooth, effecient runner puts upwards of 800 miles on his Brooks Glycerines
