So we are down to double digits until race day: 99 days 15 hours or so! :D

Just wondering how everyone is coming along with their training.

As of now I'm on track with everything. So far I have avoided the injuries that plagued me last year... Wasn't the smartest thing in the world to do 2 early season marathons.
Hope everyone is progressing well!

Yikes...a little reality check. Only 99 days till my first IM!

Training is good...so far. Lots and lots of hills on the bike. Averaging 6-8,000 feet per 50 mile ride or so. Coach is starting to get me on longer and longer rides each weekend (4 hrs last weekend with 30 min run followed by 2 hr run sunday).

Swim is kind of in maintenance mode. I am averaging 1:20-1:22/100 for all my sets and have cut back to 2 to 3 swims a weeks to save time for bike/run. Figure I'll be right at an hour without too much expended effort so I'm focusing on the other disciplines.

Bike is getting stronger every week. Used to road race (15 years or so ago) and I was never as strong on the bike as I am now.

Running is my weakpoint, as my longest run ever before last June was about 4 miles! Last Sunday's run was a 2 hr run with a 40 minute zone 1 only warmup followed by mid zone 2 for next 40 then low zone 3 for last 40. I ran a half mary course that has about 1,000 feet of climbing, most in the last 2 miles, and came in just under 1:50. Considering the slow warmup and second 40 minutes I was stoked as that knocked 7 minutes off my time when I was trying to PR the course last year! I am starting to learn to run with a HR monitor and pacing myself.

I have the Mountaineer in West Virginia on July 1st so I'm excited to see where I come in with my time. I won't be racing it so much as practicing pacing for IMWI but I am excited.

Life has been so much better since getting a coach this winter and following a structured plan as compared to last year!

Training's going very well, so well it seems I should be doing more, but I'm stickin' to the plan... mostly. I'll sneak in some extra runs or bikers here and there, but keep them aerobic.

Fininshing up 16 weeks of 30 week Don Fink program, no injuries... knock wood.

Swim has shown the greatest improvement so far, feel the glide baby and I'm luvin' it. I used used to dread the swim, but now we are one. Can't wait to attack the Mighty Hudson next month at NYC Nautica.

Peak phase starts in 4 weeks. Yikes! Where has the time gone?

Train hard, train smart people.
