Diamondman Half questions
I did it a couple of years ago.
The swim was in a small lake but there were some issues with an overflowing septic nearby that caused the bacteria levels to be too high. So we had to run instead.
You can camp right at the start
(make reservations because it fills up quickly)
The pre-race pasta was fun and very social and the support was great.
Nothing to it, but to do it
joe_h here.
did it a long while back. swim was in apond and think it was wetsuit legal. bike ride was relatively flat in delaware country side. 1 hill that last a mile over the bridge same as escape from ft. delaware race. flat and hot run but that may have changed. I think it was a good race not great.
Timberman was great. lake swim, bike had rolling hills except for 2 monsters at mile 10 and 45. and a hilly run. great volunteers I did it in '02 and it was hotter than hell.
have you looked at Quakerman Half in Quakertown in Sept? it's done by genesis adventures I'm in for the oly.

Thanks guys!
Hey joe...I haven't heard much about the Quakertown Half. Do you know any details about that course?

I am doing the Musselman Half IM in July and I am looking for a second later season Half. I am registered for the Timberman (late August) but I may have some logisitical issues that wk. So...How about the Diamondman? Any opinions? How is the swim? Is it a lake? Is it usually wetsuit legal? How about lodging in that area...The website recommends Comfort Suites. Any ideas?
Thanks! :)
