So rain season started here in Guatemala like 2 days ago.

And believe me...it's going to rain almost every afternoon now.

My training plan has me running on the evening (during the week) on Tuesday and wendsday. So today I missed a run because of the rain.

I was all ready to go out when it started raining. I would go out and run in the rain if it wasn't for my shoes.

Let's say I run a Tuesday while raining and my shoes ARE going to be wet for Wendsday. So that doesn't sound like fun. Besides they are going to stink!!!

How do you guys handle rain? Is there something you put over your shoes?

If you're running every day, you should be using more than one pair of shoes anyway. Generally, you want to avoid running in the same shoes two days in a row in order to let the cushioning restabilize, and you never want to start a run in wet shoes, so getting a second pair goes double here. If you put newspaper in the shoes when you're done, they should be fine by two days later, which is the earliest you should use them again anyway.

The newspaper in the shoes trick works- change the paper a a couple hours after the first go, beore you head to bed, then change again in the morning (assuming you run in the evening)

But, yes, two pair of shoes is ideal for back to back days.

Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.

I agree with having at least 2 pairs of shoes(if not more)
I try to get several when they are on sale.

I take my wet shoes off and take out the insole, then blot dry with a towel, and try to squeeze as much water out as I can.
I leave them out to dry, and use another pair.

By the next day they are dry anyway.:D

Nothing to it, but to do it

More than one pair is a must...
What I do also is to take the insoles out, and place them, lets say infront of a little electric fan...they dry very well, and you avoid that stinking smell.

With running shoes, and assuming you aren't going to quit tris any time soon, it is a bit more money up front but it is 2 pairs of shoes which last twice as long... so total cost will be the same :)
