So I discovered these about a week ago and tried them on my bike and wow. They claim the power and quickness of a gel but not the horrible taste in your mouth.
Anyone know if they are as good as gels and bars? I am a little standoffish since no other brand seems to have them.
thanks

They are essentially the same. Just a jube jube with electrolytes. I use them before the swim, in T1, on the bike (in case I run out of fluids) and at T2. Cola and Margarita are my favs. Pina colada is good if you realy like coconut. The others are fine as well. Make sure you drink sufficeint water when you scarf them down.

They are bulkier than gels on the run hence my uses for them above.

Clif shots are excellent. They work just as well as gels but maybe just the act of eating something makes me feel fuller -a good thing when you're riding for 5+ hours. They get a little sticky but I think they're worth it. The nutrition plan my coach put together for all my races includes mostly clif shots (w/caf) and gels. They work!

Set goals...... but be here now. Enjoy the ride to the finish line.

Donna -- do you mean clif blocks or shots? I thought the shots were the same thing as gels, so am just a bit confused. :) Thanks!

I AM a "Blockhead." I love 'em ..use them before the swim and on long training rides and runs...will be packing some at IMLP...sort of like real food! Use them in conjunction with my beloved Power gel Tangarine Double Caffine!

Clif Blocks are pretty good. Do they get stuck to anyone else’s teeth? Or is that just because I keep them in the fridge? Oh well…at least I have something to do during a boring run…trying to suck the sticky residue off my back teeth.

they are yummy!!! I found if you rip the bag open to let the air out the pack down smaller and take up about the same space as 2 gels which is what a bag equals. They are a nice break from a gel too.

I love the block- but am w/ Tbravo- they stick to my teeth. Doesnt really bother me- just makes the flavor stay around a little while longer!

Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.
