First post IMAZ race, the Tempe International Triathlon. This was my first tri ever last year. Finished in 2:03 and change, 6th overall and 1st in my AG. Man, some of these Olympic dudes are FAST! I'm convinced you really have to train specifically for this distance to be top 3.

Congrats on a good race! Out of curiosity, what was your time last year? I'd love to see how it has changed with all the hard work you've put in.

Good job, dude! Looks like that post IM fitness is paying off!

The Oly distance is pretty specialized. All about the speed. Great job placing that high. I wish I could manage that!

Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.

2:12, so I picked up about 9:00min. The transition, swim and run were different this year, so it's not a perfect comparison, but close enough. The TIMEX Olympic race I did last Sept was in the same spot and I was 2:04 there, so I gained an extra min. It was really hot yesterday, the run was tough and my fitness is not what it was prior to IMAZ! :o

Wow Red - that's fast! How were your splits and transitions? How did you feel about them? Are you gonna post a real race report?

Yes, I just got all the results this morning and will put together a report. The times for the top 10 are clearly show the swim and the run were too long. The winning run time was a 38 and change from a guy who always goes sub 36! The RD definatley messed up!

Huh! That's a major oversight - with all the tools they have now to measure distances (it takes about five minutes to verify a course's length with Google Earth) I'm surprised they messed that up...
