Training this week
in my experience as an athlete after you have taken a while off and have a competition coming up relatively soon the best thing to do is try to ride the "taper" as we call it in swimming. by this i mean do a bit each day so you don't lose the feeling of race pace. maybe tue. and wed. do your typical event warm up and then a few sprints (something to get your heart rate up, but not enough to cause any lingering effects), and thurs./fri. only do your event warm up. at this point you will not be able to gain any significant fitness and you are only doing a sprint.
that is what i would do.
I agree. It is too close to your event to be able to improve your speed. At this point any attempts you would make to improve would pry only hurt you in you the race. I recommend a couple light workouts just to finish your taper.

Just returned from a mini vacation. I did one light jog during the vacation. Nothing too serious. I have a sprint this Saturday. What should I do the rest of the week? I usually finish in the top 15 in the sprints, so I have decent speed. I want to be tuned up for this one, there will be some fast competition.
Any suggestions?
Thank you in advance.
