allergies and the pool
My wife had these problems also when we started swimming and she fixed it all with a simple noseclip!
Hyperactive Trifueler!!!! (I refuse to let the status go :p)
Thanks T Dog, I did try that a few times and had a hard time breathing in the water. I guess it boils down to an hour of not breathing in the water, or 2 days out of the water.
I had the same problem and Flonase Nasal Spray works great for me. I use it before every swim and the allergy symptoms are gone.
High-Quality H2O
Instant Hero. Just add water.
You can mess with him. But don't mess wth his water  .
claritin or sudafed work for me.
Just to update, went and spoke to a pharmacist and he recommended a simple saline nasal spray. He said the chlorine was drying out the nasal cavity and the spray would help rehydrate after each swim. I've used it for 2 swims now and it works like a charm. thanks for the replies.
Glad I read this, I am going to have to try the saline spray. Everytime I swim I sneeze the rest of the day. Luckily it is only one day for me!

Curious if anyone is having or has had similar problems and how you might have fixed the problem. Whenever I go swimming, I get allergy-like symptoms for the next two days (sneezing, runny nose, watering eyes, etc.). I know it's related to the large amount of chlorine in the pool where I swim, but changing pools isn't really an option for me right now. I've tried antihistamine (ie allergy medications) and have seen a small difference. Anyway, it's extremely annoying so if anyone has any help ideas they would be welcomed with open arms...and a handful of clean-ex.
Thanks.
