This kind of relates to the Critical Mass thread. There's an event all over the U.S. and in several other countries on May 16 at 7:00 pm to honor cyclists killed and injured by motor vehicles and to raise awareness of cycling and of sharing the road with cyclists.

There's a ride in many cities, so you can look on the web site and see if there is one going on near you. I plan on participating in honor of a friend killed last May by a logging truck on a very common local cycling route here.
