Hey,

So I just finally found my favorite water bottle only problem is that it had a little water and accelerade in it and was left in the garage for a few weeks. Needless to say it was nasty on the inside, I rinsed it out and cleaned it using like dawn, and then ran it in the dishwasher but it still has a kinda nasty oder. Any ideas on how to clean it better and get rid of the smell?

try water and salt, let it sit for a while.
try dawn and let it sit for a while.
make sure you take apart the cap piece to get inside all those read hard to reach cesspools.

accelerade creates the nastiest stuff in bottles, i'm learning you gotta clean em up asap.

I put a few drops of bleach and some water in, and shake it really well. Let it sit for a while. The bleach tends to kill it all.

Baking soda and boiling water disinfects and neutralizes odours pretty well.

boling water can ruin some bottles.

I use bleach and it has never let me down.

get a big bowl or similar with water add bleach and sumerge your water bottles in there. After a couple of hours go back to them and wash them normally.

I use generic bottles from MEC( an REI type store) - same bottles as the bike shops just no logos - cost 2$ each - if there's mold or a dodgy smell as a result in it I replace it.
