Water vs Gatorade

I HATE water....did I mention I HATE water...ok now that you fully understand my HATE for water, is it ok to drink gatorade all the time? Too much sugar? Too many electrolytes? What's the deal. Help me understand cause I wanna do whats best for my body, especially during training....

Drinking gatoraid all the time = too many calories, too much sugar. It's generally considered the equivalent of always drinking a non-caffinated soda, without the diuretic effect. Generally it should be used for what it's designed for: a during and post- workout electrolyte drink.

Especially check the bottles if you're using regular gatoraid, as some of it has high fructose corn syrup...or at least did when I was looking through bottles a few months ago (why I only use powdered stuff nowdays).

Is there are particular reason you hate water?

Gatorade is bad for the formentioned high fructose corn syrup, stay away from the liquid stuff. The powdered stuff is fine. Gatorade, just like all else, is fine in moderation, but as a substitute for water it is definately too much.

I'd only drink a sports like drink during and just after a workout, water all other times of day.

Yikes.....no gatorade......that sux!!!! However, like I said I wanna be as healthy as I can be. I'm breaking my body down so much with training that I need to feed/hydrate the beast. I just hate water because it's no fun.....no fruity tastes is what I mean. Now what are that powder stuff you all were mentioning?? And can I do that often????

powdered gatorade, it's just like gatorade, just none of the hfcs.
Drink it in moderation (although if you are looking for fruity, the powdered is a bit lacking), it can be just as bad if you treat it like a water substitute (although you can control how much you put in to lessen the amount "badness" of it)

If you like the frutiness is would suppose you could go with some kind of 100% fruit juice, but as others have said, water can't really be replaced. Mabie you could get some kind of filter in orter to make the water taste better?

Water down fruit juices 50% and get some powdered Gatorade and dont mix it full strength.

Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.

water with a slice of lemon in it... or lime. Or probably a bit of any juicy fruit (strawberry, crushed grapes, etc). Gives it a bit of flavor, and cuts down the bland water taste to it :)

I use a lot of cranberry juice. Watered down like 10 to 1. Enough flavor to make a difference, but a lot less calories.

I found dasani flavored water....grape is great!!!

I suck down carbonated water like it's...well....water. Usually around a gallon a day. It's much more interesting than water, comes in a variety of flavors, and has no calories! And it hydrates just as well as water....because it's water!

I do lemmon and Ice----
"actual" juice has calories that I know "I" cannot afford to inhale during my day. I also do carbonated water --its free here at work and is a bit different.
