Congrats :). Looks like you had a rather nice race in regards to the conditions.

I was told the weather was bad. The people in my Tri club didn't even make the trip. Congrats on the race.
What am I on? I'm on my bike busting my ass 6 hours a day... What are you on? - Lance Armstrong

Mother Nature can be very cruel. One would think that April 7th would be a great date for an early spring Duathlon. It seemed like such a great date that USTA choose to make it one of the qualifying events for the World Duathlon Championships being held later this year in Richmond Virginia. Mother Nature had diffrent plans as she hit the competitors with sub freezing temps and Richmond's first snow of the year...yes, first snow on April 7th.
The race was a extremely hilly and difficult 5.7 mile run, 36 mile bike, and 5.7 mile run and being my first Du (long or short) the weather made for some difficult decisions, mainly what to wear and how to eat.
I ended up taking 11th in my age group (30-34) with a time of 3:19:06 and was real happy with my runs. The bike course was so difficult its hard to measure success from the results but I am very happy.
Leg 1 5.7 Miles 36:22 6:21 pace
Leg 2 36 Miles 2:02:21 17.6 mph
Leg 3 5.7 Miles 40:23 7:00 Pace
30 degree temps+ 10-15 mph winds+ 47.4 miles = great experience.
I think I will be ready for my first HIM in May.....just hope it doesn't snow in Florida.
Thanks to everyone on Trifuel for your continued support.
