Taper for HIM
It ususally depends on the amount of underlying fatigue but I think one and a half to 2 weeks should give you a decent amount of recovery to perform well over the HIM if it is an "A" race.:)
2 weeks is the norm... think 75% distance on week 2 and 50% on week 1...
so what about intensity during the decreased workload?
high intesity... The idea is to keep the blade sharp but to make sure you are fresh. If you have like a 60 minute run then 10 warm up and 10 cool down. Give it an RPE 7 or so on the 40 minute excersize part. Of course this is only an example just think about the numbers and apply this to any amount of time. For a 30 min run 5min w/u 5 min c/d and 20 min excersize. You get the idea.
thanks bro. my race is in June (2nd). tomorrow is 8 weeks out. i've got big plans. later!

What do you guys typically do for a Half Iron taper. How far out do you start? what is the workload?
