I need help! I have been sufferring from an extremely sharp pain in my big toe to the point I can no longer pedal or apply force to the pedal when biking. It only bothers me when biking and not running. It started happening a year ago after about a 4 + hour ride and gradually got worse with less riding time to the point it hurt severly after 1 hour of riding. I have tried changing shoes, socks, positioning and still no improvement. I currently use Speedplay pedals which I was going to switch but was told they have the most surface area which should decrease my problem. Any suggestions?

My wife may think I'm "Mc Dreamy" But I'm definately not a real doctor or the TV kind...however,

I've known a bunch of folks who have suffered with this over time...Since you have changed just about everything to no avail your next step may be to seek the help of a real pro...as the article says it can affect various parts of the foot.
As to the Speed Play...great pedals used 'em for a long time. Switched to Look (much larger platform than the lollypops) when I started to have some foot pain...much happier now.
Thanks. I am going to see someone about injections this week and have already gotten some look pedals to try.
