Hey All,

Now that its no longer pitch black and friggin cold im thinking about starting to commute to school, but its still dark (very mild light) and I want a light. Any good suggestions for good front/back lights? thanks =)

I've got a couple of basic lights from Princeton Tec. Relatively inexpensive, bright and run on AA batteries.

If you're looking for something more substantial, I use one of these for night mountain bike rides:

I have a Nite Rider that goes on my helmet--handy for making your self noticed by cars(you can just shake your head and them and the light seems to catch their attention). They are a bit spendy though, but worth it in my opinion.

i like this one a lot... small and quickly removable so you don't have to leave it on your bike...it's definitely not a headlight, but it's very bright and visible to drivers

If you are commuting, get something that will illuminate the road. I personally wait until sunrise is earlier as I don't trust people.

I have a serfas light for the rear. I'm hardly ever out when it's dark and if I am it never dark enough for me to have trouble seeing. I'm more worries about a car not seeing me than me not seeing anything.

The light is a good one though; it has 3 settings and it's pretty bright.

Lights are a good idea. I got a warning from a police officer once for not having one on my bike when it was dark. Felt pretty stupid getting pulled over with all his car lights flashing everywhere. I did refrain from asking if I was going to fast!
