bpm ~ there's been about 6 or 7 threads talking about how much (or little!) sleep we all get, including at least one poll. Go to the Search feature and type in sleep as a search in the titles of postings and you'll pull stuff up.

I use to be okay to get 6-7 hours. Now I sleep more like 8 hours during the week and 12-14 on the weekends. Doesn't help that I'm 7 weeks pregnant and I always either sick or sleeping.

I thought I had sleeping issues before I started training. In the past I was happy if I could get 6 hours of sleep a night. Now with ~12 hours of training per week I'm averaging 4-5 restless hours of sleep a night.

Last year was great for me because I managed that I only needed about 3-4 hours sleep per night during the week. But then came some holidays, a training free october, and that was it. Can't get up that easy any more. Now I'm sleeping about 6-8 hours per night and I hate it. You just have so much more time if you don't sleep much.

What I want and what I get are usually two different things. I WANT 9 hours a day (but 8 is ok) and I usually GET 7 hours. My husband doesn't quite get the need for sleep.... I usually end up sleeping on the couch as soon as I sit down :p

I do a good job of getting 8+ hours a night and I am usually ready to run by 7 every morning

During the week - 5 hours. If lucky on the weekend 6-7.

Ive tried to research sleep cycles and how they deal with ones sleep needs and fatigue. As Im sure most of you know there are different stages in a sleep cycle. The ave sleep cycle lasts 90 minutes. Many have suggested that as little as 3 sleep cycles (4.5 hrs) are needed per night, and 4 total for a 24 hr period, to feel refreshed in the morning. The main argument is as long as you sleep in full sleep cycles, with a minimum of 3, you will feel better than if you wake up in the middle of a cycle. Ive tried to test this for the past month and it holds very true for me.
I feel MUCH MUCH better in the morning if I get 6 hrs of sleep vs if I get 7. Same holds true on the weekend . I feel better getting 7.5 hrs (5 full cycles) vs 8 hrs.

Anyone else fool around with this?
