Training suggestions please
Where is the race you're planning on? What type of terrain?
Mostly you just have to train consistently and and try not to increase your training load too quickly.
First thing that jumps out at me is that you might want to look at the time you've spent on strength training since it is about the same as your running this month and more for the year. I agree it can have benefits, but if you really want to be successful at tris you have to run, bike, and swim.
Oh, and make sure stretching/yoga stays up there in priority (flexibility is important, even if just 15 min of stretching after each ride/run).
Checking out an online sprint plan (as suggested above) and modifying it to fit you is a good idea.

My strength #’s are up there simply because before I decided to try a triathlon, my focus over the years was weight training. I wasn’t a bodybuilder, but for years I lifted and I guess it is still in my repertoire. If I ever figure out how to post things like my background, goals, etc… on this site I will do all that and it may give you all a better idea of where I was, where I’m at, and where I’m going. Sorry, I don’t have a blog.
I will check out the plan above and do my research on others. My problem is that when I do ‘modify’ them, I tend to go a little too far, too soon – i.e. trying to run fast times all the time. I’m still trying to run for endurance.
Stay tuned for more questions/other topics from me. I tend to get a little carried away sometimes.

By modify I mostly mean just the days on which the workouts are. For example, if you can get to a pool weds and not thurs, move a thurs swim to a wednesday. In general it's a good idea to leave distances alone as you get started. Use the plan to guide how much how soon, but don't look at it as a rule book that means you have to skip a kid's soccer game! :)
And that makes sense on the strength part then.

some other free generic training plans are available at triathlete.com, trinewbies.com, slowtwitch.com, beginnertriathlete.com.
they are generic but give you some ideas you should adapt them to your schedule and to train your weakest event. good luck and have Fun!
proud and high or low and humble - many miles before I go

increase training volume by 10% max each week; decrease training volume by 25% on the fourth week
you can set up your own excel sheet to calc out the progression of times. this should keep you from overtraining & hurting yourself and also predict where your volume will be X number of weeks down the road
Stupid question here, but when you say increase volume by 10%, are you talking about miles run or time running?
Thanks!
time. it's hard to do, but focus on time and HR not speed and miles. the later will come after the former.
Thanks you very much!

My first triathlon is in August. It's a sprint.
I have been tracking my workouts, distances, etc... since the beginning of the year. Here is some basic information:
This month:
Bike: 5 hours - 90.6 Mi
Run: 4.5 hours - 25.7 Mi
Strength Training: 4 hours
Stretching/Yoga: 40 minutes
For the year:
Bike: 16 hours - 285.43 miles
Run: 9 hours- 54.6 miles
Strength: 11.5 hours
Stretching/Yoga: 2h 25m
First of all, I know that I MUST start swimming. Problem is that I don't belong to the local Y. This could be a problem. Actually, when the weather gets a little bit warmer, I will have access to a lake, so that may help. At any rate, I'm rambling.
Where should I increase my training, how much should I increase it each week/month...? Conversely, when should I back off on my training?
It's not a huge race, but I certainly realize that I'm not going to stand on the podium. Yes, I do want to finish, but I want to go a step further. I want to be able to finish knowing that I gave it my best.
Thanks everyone!
I appreciate any comments!
