Hi!
don't know how meaningful it all is but welcome to the sport!

Yeah, I guess I didn’t elaborate on what I mean by ‘meaningful.’
I realize that triathlons are not the key to the meaning of life. Didn’t mean to sound so dramatic. :)
I guess what I was trying to get at was that I need to commit myself to something. I WANT to commit myself to something that I can say “I gave it my best and I did it.”
I love to use my body. I want to see how far I can take it. What better way to do it than to train in 3 different sports.
Thanks for the welcome! I appreciate it!
Paul
actually the more I think about tri's to me are pretty meaningful. training gives me lots of time for reflection and meditation and the feeling crossing the line is a huge sense of accomplishment and confidence that carries over into the real world. good luck and enjoy!

Well, at the pace I'm running now, I can make it to your house in a little less than 24 hours. :)

I’m 41. I have been active throughout my adult life. Weight training to keep in shape, a little cardio, things like that. Play golf, always enjoy some volleyball.
I have always wanted to do something meaningful in life. I guess that I just need to prove something to myself. I was always a naturally gifted athlete WAY back in high school and throughout my life, but I never fully committed myself. Don’t know if it was just being lazy or if it didn’t have the confidence. Fact of the matter is, I want to accomplish something.
I hope that I will learn a lot from everyone on this site.
