Well last tough week my training wrapped up. This week is my recovery week from my just past 18 hour week.

To get started Friday was kinda funny it was sleeting and icy outside so I had to hang out inside for the run. Well 4 episodes of 24 (a hair under 3 hours) later I knocked out 20 miles on the deathmill. Just before I was supposed to get off the treadmill my wife came down into the basement to tell me my mom was crying upstairs and very upset. (I never even heard her come in my house but then again the TV was blairing.) I was only 2 and a half minutes left on my 3 hour run so I told her to just stall for a few minutes and I will be up. Well she did and I came upstairs doubled over from the treadmill, much to my suprise my family was upstairs with balloons and champagne to congradulate me. It was my graduation day I got my Associates (I'm still in class to get my Bachelors.) Well I caught my breath hopped in the shower and went out to dinner 20 minutes after my 3 hour run.

On sunday the ice was still all over the place so I stay inside again. This time it was 6 hours on the trainer. Again 8 episodes of 24 later I know Jack Bauer pretty well now. I finally got off of the bike at 5pm did my 25 min recovery run immediately after. All in all I feel pretty good. I felt a little light headed but it went ok. Does any one normally feel light headed when they run?

Anyways I am in a recovery week this week with my taper the next 3 weeks... IM AZ here I come ready or not!

Great job on both the degree and the training. Kick some a@# in 3 weeks.

Way to go! I'm sure you'll be ready -- though coming from someone who has never done an IM :)

If I remember correctly Jstyle, several weeks ago didn't you have questions as to your mental toughness and finishing your IM?
20 miles on a treadmill? You're ready buddy!

Whew, now THAT'S mental toughness. I could never do that long of an indoor workout, never. Way to go! I bet you'll be totally ready when the big day comes.

And congrats on your AA!

3 hours on the treadmill.
6 hours on the trainer.
That takes an incredible amount of mental toughness.
Good luck!

Like others have said, 9 hours of indoor workouts is simply BRUTAL. You're a champ, Jstyle.

Now comes humility time...You slam a 9 hour indoor workout and feel all full of piss and vinegar, maybe even suffer from a little goal inflation...keep a calm mind on race day and as the proverb says:
"Make haste slowly."
You will do this.
