right now im trying to decide between a 2006 orbea aletta and a 2007 cervelo dual. both being the ultegra models.
i dont know which one to choose, all the reviews just say good things about them.

the cervelo frameset has a very aero looking downtube, but it comes with cheaper wheels. (shimano 550)

the aletta has a carbon rear triangle and comes with better wheels
(rolf prima tempo) but i dont think the frameset looks as aero and the seat tube angle is only 76 degrees, will i want something steaper.

I believe the Cervelo also has a 76 degree seat angle, but with a reverable seatpost so you can ride steeper if you want.

If you are looking to get aggressive with your position on the bike, you might wanna look at Oreba's geometry- theyve got tall head tubes, limiting how low you can go in the front on any given size...

Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.

I have the cervelo dual and I think its an awesome bike. I have full ultegra, thew on the FSA TT Chainrings and I have the Vision aerobars, not the carbon ones and its still just 20 pounds, so not super light, but for having no carbon fiber except the fork its not too bad. I dont even notice the weight much

I'm also a new owner of a "yellow Cervelo" and I couldn't be happier. I think you're smart to consider the Ultegra version - a better value than the DA Dual IMO - plus it's yellow :)

If you're leaning toward the Cervelo, I'd advise you to hurry up - the shop where I bought mine is already out of '07's - and Cervelo isn't shipping any more of them.

I don't know much about the Orbea except that it's something different - everyone and their dog has a Cervelo it seems.

Go with the Cervelo Dual. I have read that Orbea has a slacker "European" geometry on its TT bikes. I don't think you can go wrong with Cervelo - they are arguably the king of TT bikes - although there are many other good ones out there, but when it comes to TT bikes, Cervelo knows what it is doing.

Another happy Cervelo Dual owner.
