Looking for a little help. I am fairly new to triathlon and am currently training for my first HIM. I am looking to upgrade my bike. I have been looking at the Scott Plasma Team and the Cervelo P2C. The Cervelo has a little better components but I've heard that anything 105 and better is fine. Both are about the same price and I am just looking for a little input from those of you that may have experience with one or the other. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

From being a Plasma Team owner I can say that the bike is really nice. I get that kid in a candy store feeling every time I'm on the thing.

I don't like going into details, but they are both really nice bikes. Compnentry will only make the slightest difference in terms of weight, performance issues are null and void. The head tube heights are both the same, meaning that you won't; be able to get any lower on one bike than you would the other.

I really don't think you will be able to recognize any performance benefit between the 2 bikes. I'd say go with whichever bike fits you the best.

I have a Plasma, too, and I have to say that everything glbrum said is right on the money. They're both great bikes. Unless you can spring for the P3C, it's pretty much a wash. If there's a big price difference, go for the cheaper one and buy some aero wheels (a disc if you'll be averaging over about 23 mph).

I'd get the p2c cause you can get it in red and white, and it looks totally P-R-O.
