Tri Short "support"

Last season I ran in my bike shorts during duathlon races due to me being cheap and not wanting to buy tri shorts. I have now bought some Orca tri shorts that were on sale at my local bike shop. They felt nice when I was trying them on, but now that I have run around in them a bit I noticed that they offer much less "male support" than even my bike shorts. Is this normal with Tri shorts? Does anyone wear a jockstrap to keep things together? If so, have they hampered your biking comfort?
Thanks

My tri shorts fit fairly snug, so haven't had the need for any additional support.

I have been dealing with the same issue and kicked around the idea of wearing a speedo under the tri shorts. If anyone has tried this I would like to know the results along with other suggestions.

I have the orca short as well but am used to tri shorts so they feel fine. Rather than wearing something like a speedo under them try putting your bike shorts over for the bike portion if you want more comfort - there will be less risk of chafing as you would get from the speedo underneath and you can slip them (the bike short) on and off relatively easisly in transition.
