torn muscle? or something else
yes, yes.
I did something recently like that to my hammy. I was stretching a lot in one day (like 4 sessions). the next day it hurt to stretch my hamstring. Like pulled muscle hurt. So, I laid off of the stretching for about 1 week and it was better. I just went by feel (pain level) and when it was low I went back to stretching.
Keep in mind I was not training at the time due to injury (a different one than the pulled hammy).
I'd say go ahead and try a little bit of training, keep it nice and easy and if it hurts stop immediately.
Also keep in mind that you won't be able to stretch afterwards so you may want to just chill for a few days until it heals.
I think you'd know a torn muscle...I've torn both calf muscles (at different times) and it hurts like a mutha! When I have the type of symptoms you're describing, I use a combo of 10-min ice/10-min heat, and so on for an hour. Take it easy and let it heal.

hi all
last night playing 'soccer' with my dog, i some how raised my leg and bang felt this pain in my left quad (thigh) area..
have i possibly torn a muscle or something else? it hurts to stretch,
but i can barely feel the pain whilst walking, running, cycling...
how long do these types of injuries take to heal? can i continue with running / cycling?
thanks in advance.
