Just 4 fun: Rotisserie Iron Relay
Can we pick 'em from any time frame?
Swim...Ian Thorpe
Bike...Charlie Gaul
I'll do the run...albeit slowly!
Nice idea POC!

That's good, Anton. I like the Charlie Gaul pick (esp. at IMC.) Can the Thorpedo swim 4kms? in a straight line? without getting bored and napping under a tree?

cool idea. I think I'd do for fun and keep it in the family. so...
swim: me
bike: chris
run: my dog streatley - and if that's not legal then BigMatt.
Swim me just because I can lose the least amount of time for the team
Stadler on the bike
Macca on the run
Man that would be funny seeing those two on the same team..
Swim: Johnny Weismuller(I remember watching Sat morning Tarzan episodes as a kid and he could wrestle alligators, so he would be tough in the mass start.)
Bike: Lance
Run: Me

Damn now why didn't I pick lance :( oh well there is still Landis and he could dope his way into running with lance...

Hey tribro,
I love the family team concept, 'cept I have none, but your family is a hell of a contender for the Family World Championships of Ironman Triathlon!
We'd have to work out rules or we'd have Anton adopting German bikers and Aussie swimmers!

Now that's the spirit of rotisserie IM!
Weismuller was just terrific as Tarzan and he'd be an animal in those swim starts as you say.
Good one.

Great Thread...
I would have to say:
Swim - Mike Phelps, the guys a rocket
Bike - Miguel Indurain, not bad on a bike
Run - Myself
although handed a large lead can you imagine the pressure of knowing Haile Gebreselassie was running you down.....damn

Anton just raised an interesting point over in the newbie forum.
If you had to pick two people to do an Ironman Relay with you, who would you pick and what leg would you do?
First come first served. If someone picks Normann first no one else can have him. Here's my team:
Swim: PoC
Bike: Jens Voight (40.64kph today @ TdCal)
Run: Haile Gebreselassie 2:05:56 in 2006
In that case, I'll swim my heart out and I want Jens Voight (today in the TdCalifornia) to do the bike leg, and at 2:05:56 in 2006, Haile Gebrselassie, to do the run leg.
Who's on your team?
