Yesterday, in honor of fat tuesday I was going to swim 1200 yards. My longest before this was 1000 yards on saturday. I was surprised to see someone at the pool that I knew. So we swam together for a while and he left when I hit 1200. He made a comment that I might as well go for 1500 since I was almost there. So I did. This may not seem like much to some of you. But, about a month ago I was not comfortable with breathing at all. I'm now doing 100 sets and even accidentally did a 150 set. After I realized it, I did a 50 sprint to make it a 200. So again, thank you for all of you help. You guys and gals are very supportive and motivating. I love it! Keep up the good work and positive attitudes and responces.

Also, my 50m sprint was times. I did it in 34 seconds. Is that good or really slow?

Way to go. The swim is/was my biggest limiter as well. It is a great confidence boost when you reach/exceed certain milestones. Proves all the hard work actually does pay off. Keep it up!

Great workout, sounds like you're really enjoying it. Your time looks good, distance too. Keep it fun and keep up the good work.

34 is pretty decent, especailly for someone doing that little yardage. You may have some swimming tallent burried somewhere in there.

Thanks! That makes me feel good. Oh...to sweeten it a little, I did that without a flip turn because I dont know how to do them. I touched the wall and pushed off.

I'm swimming 200m sets now and doing a minimum of 1500m. I havent done more than 1500m but I dont let myself do any less than that.

Flip turns are easy. Just take your last stroke, tuck your chin and head and let your momentum take you over. It's not like you are flipping over from a static position. Just remember to breath our trhough your nose and don't extend your legs too much or you will hit your heels on the edge.

I did 2000m in 200m sets. I felt great and probably could've done more. I'm really starting to love swimming.

awesome! Once you are really enjoying, it gets even easier to get in the pool and thus to improve even more :)

Ya, kyillee is right. So much better when it is enjoyable! I used to dread swimming - now I look forward to it! Still lots of work but fun - especially as you see improvements. Keep at it!
