I'm looking for some good swim technique sample videos on the web. Any suggestions? I am just looking for something that demonstrates proper form that I can 'mimic' and compare my form.

Here's another one

http://www.goswim.tv/

They have a "Drill of the Week" including video instruction and their archive is quite complete.

When I had the swim schools this was this was a drill I had all practice. Scull feet first then back accross the pool head first. Another one is get on your back and scull feet first and head first.

Great drills to get the feel of water.

got a vid of the sculling one? I think I have a similar heads first drill, and saw a feet version of it done but haven't tried it. But new to the terminology of swimming I'm not sure if it's the same thing I'm picturing!

I know that when I did the scull one that I know heads first I really felt the body positioning and how the water was against my arms.

All sculling is great, even with the hands at the side going feet first or head first, front and on the back.

I also like to extend the arms straight out in front and move the body by sculling - the hands are moved only the arms are not moved.

All these sculling actions are very important. Let's just say getting used to the feel of water.

I think I'm more curious if sculling even is what I think it is :) To me it felt sorta like treading water, but instead of feet down you were more in a swim position.

I tried the two tech in the video last night. Very  Going backwards is fast and promotes the "high elbow" at least that is what I think we should be doing with this drill. The forward motion is slow, at least for me till I get this thing right I guess. The forward motion is helpfull for that first pull in the water as the hand enters. After doing this forward motion for like 4 lengths I tried a reg. swim and there was a difference in the stroke., faster in the initial pull. It's a great drill and I've incorporated this into the set. You all should give it a try.

Almost the same thing, but you get a much better feel for the water and what happens is you feel the water more.
