Xterra Championship on CBS
ya, i liked it as well. More racing and not as much of the special interest pieces as Ironman. Though some of the crashes made me cringe. Ouch.
the crash reel was pretty rough, especially that woman who went into the bushes and all you saw were the bushes shaking as she finally slid to a stop.
...makes you appreciate the way the leaders tore through that trail!
Helped me get thru a trainer session since it was 20 degrees outside. Definitely liked it better than Ironman coverage for the reasons you both just mentioned. Now if only NBC could learn from it and show us the race next year instead of all the touch-feely! But, it did also confirm that I'm never doing an Xterra. Wow was there way too much blood for my liking!
"It's very hard in the beginning to understand that the whole idea is not to beat the other runners. Eventually you learn that the competition is against the little voice inside you that wants you to quit." ~George Sheehan
Does anyone know if they will re-broadcast it, I missed it? Or was it a once time showing?
"Do just once what others say you can't do, and you will never pay attention to their limitations again."
yeah, that bike course looked brutal, fuuny how they even showed their own camera guy crashing. how about that one woman that had so many flats that she said screw it and was riding on her rim...

Did anyone else catch this over the weekend? I thought CBS did a very nice job packaging the race broadcast. Really good feel for how the main players were doing in every leg, and how tough the bike course is.
I thought the shots of all the AG winners crossing the finish line were a great touch.
