I'm looking to get a new pair of goggles, and was wondering what tint is best for tris. I know the basics behind sunglass tinting, but don't know how water affects light and what lense tint would give the best results. Thanks all.

I usually go with either a clear lens or an orange lens depending on how bright it is. I find that the darker lenses are usually overkill but that is just my opinion!

you really don't need really dark goggles unless youre doing backstroke outside. I would go with something bright, orange would probably be a good idea.

I use a light blue, but mainly because it is what I've always used :) My sunglasses are all orange tint, and I might be looking into that for the next pair of goggles.

I like to use mirrored smoke lenses when it's bright and something lighter when it's cloudy (my second pair is orange right now, but I lose goggles all the time, so who knows what I'll have next month!) That's just another reason why Swedes are so damn good.....you can lose 'em and it doesn't really matter at $4/pair. That's probably the only equipment in this sport that doesn't cost a fortune!

I have one set clear, one set tinted and one set yellow... They don't cost that much anyway

i use the darkest i can find, so i can't see the bottom :-) in the open water dark has been fine for cloudy or sunny days.
