Welcome to Trifuel and to freak world!!!! :D
Don´t know if anybody else has a more experienced coment about this but I feel a 22 week plan is very long for a sprint race. But well in the end it all depends on your actual endurance level. Seems a bit long for me though.
Hope we can have you posting all your questions around here.
Hyperactive Trifueler!!!! (I refuse to let the status go :p)

Thank you everyone for your welcome. I'm looking forward to the sport and to using more of this forum.
JRH - thanx for the info on possible events. The Philly Insurance Tri Oly distance is closed, but the Sprint is still open.
The 22 week plan is quite long - I think they meant it when they said it's from "COUCH" to sprint. I'm actually doing a little more than what the plan calls for, but I deliberately chose a long plan to see if I can stay with the intention for that long --- mental training I suppose!

I work out & run periodically to keep from getting too much junk in the trunk. The last 3 yrs, the work outs got more "periodic" because I was a workaholic. I decided to cut that crap out this year - so I hired enough people so I could work "normal" hours.
Now, what do I do with myself with all this free time? Triathlon, that's what! :p Have always thought about improving my endurance and admired the freaks, I mean dedicated athletes, who could do it. So I investigated, read, researched and finally, 3 months b4 my 41st bday, committed.
Since I'm a tri-wanna-be, but a chicken at heart, I chose the "couch to sprint" (22 wks) plan from BeginnerTriathlete.com. Though I've done a few 5K races in my past, I have no patience for the endurance thing -- that's the other reason why I chose this plan. Slow & steady! 7 days a week with one day off/strength training. I'm almost through my 4th week of this plan. My first race? haven't signed up yet, though I'm eyeballing The Philadelphia Triathlon -- still need to feel confident about swimming in the river (besides, I'm not that fond of that icky Schuykill River of ours).
