Getting ready to order hand paddles for swim drills, and wanted to see if anyone has any recommendations. The Gear Guide has a description of the TYR Catalyst paddles, but no user reviews. Thoughts on TYR Mentor vs TYR Catalyst vs Speedo Power Paddle vs Strokemaster or others? thanks!

I don´t know the specific models. but both speedo an tyr have models that are flat. I love those.

The ones that are curved or have weird shapes always give he hand, finger and wrist pain. but it could be just me.

I think this is the one I use:

They work for me - don't cause shoulder issues

I use the speedo paddles and they work great. I found them helpful in starting the grab earlier in my stroke.

No matter what type of paddle you use, make sure you use the absolute fewest number of straps possible to attatch it to your hand. That more than anything will help your stroke. It teaches you to keep constant pressure on the water, and if you don't they're going to com off. These are the ones i use

very simple and very adjustable. I would probably recomend the smaller reds for the OP to keep tempo up and prevent major shoulder issues. I personally use the yellow ones and just use a finger strap around my middle finger to keep these on.
