plyometrics?

Two sites I've been looking at for those kinds of workouts are: http://bodyweightculture.com/ and http://crossfit.com/. I incorporate these into my weight training sessions and really like the change from pushing weights around.

I'm in grad school, #1 priority even though I could think of many others. My last tri was the might montauk (about 5 months ago), but ever since then I've been having trouble putting in those training hours. I'll probably just stick to olympics and sprints until this school thing is over. I was looking into plyometrics because it would be a good 30 to 60 min workout, and I was hoping it would improve my strength when I could start putting in those long hours again. Is it worth my time or should I stick to short intense workouts within the three disciplines? Do people only do strength training or speed workouts when they are already putting in many hours in the other three areas? If this is a good idea, do you know of any good programs?
