Today I rode my first century ride, besting my longest ride by 12 miles. I went 102 miles in 4:47 @ 21.5mph. Felt great, even blew by some other local tri guys also IMAZ training at the end, that was nice :).

Awesome bro. That's really cool. Congrats on a great ride. Hopefully it's a sign of things to come.

Yeah, my feeling on most long duration training, finish it fast enough so it doesn't start to suck. I rode that 4:47 at an average HR of 140, nicely in the high side of zone 2, low zone 3, all aerobic but I still kept up the pace and tempo.

Nice - you look to be doing great prep for the IM. Keep it going!

Luke: "I got him! I got him!"
Han: "Great kid, don't get cocky"

:D

I just hope I can maintian my training levels at my current pace for all 3 sports. If I can put them together on race day it will be a good day, but you never know what that day will bring and you always must respect the distance.

Figures that "Red 5" would have that quote right! Thanks!

Good deal Red that is a pretty quick time I can't remember how is the AZ course is it flat? Does it have lot's of turns? Is there any reason it wouldn't be an easy bike course because RnR AZ was flat as water almost.

The bike course is very flat. There is a gradual climb on the front half of each loop, but it's moderate and I train on it a lot. There are a few 90 degree turns as you get into and out of Tempe, but not too bad. The BeeLine is pratcticallt a straight shot and account for about 2/3's the course. It can and most likely will be windy, usually a bit of a tail wind heading up the incline portion, headwind coming back down.
My goal is to average 22mph and be off the bike in around 5:10.
