New bike opinions
Right now you might be able to find some 2006 models on clearance. If you want to go carbon, I got a Scott Plasma for $2000 about a month or two ago before doing upgrades on it, so if you look hard enough you may be able to find one. If you'd rather do aluminum, I think that the Felt bikes are great, too. The new S22 is pretty sick. A third good option is the Cervelo Dual. These guys have the best engineered bikes on the market, but they're also one of the most expensive, so you'd only be able to get the entry-level model, which is okay since it's still better than most companies' higher-level TT bikes. They're all solid rides and are from companies that specialize in TT bikes.

Not fast enough.
Cervelo, QR, Felt, and Trek make solid bikes under $2k. Cant really go wrong with any of em.
Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.
I just purchased a Giant Trinity Aliance, and HIGHLY recommed it. It is stiff where needed yet an unbelievably comfortable ride. A 78 degree seatpost and everything you will ever need for a decent tri-bike. And it cost less than 2K.
Also consider buying used if you are limited to 2k and under. You can get some great deals on bikes that are only a year or two old for sometimes half of what they cost originally.

Hey everyone,
looking to get a new bike this year (it's about time) and wanted some input from the mass experience here.
Moving up to 1/2 IM race this year from olympic (maybe even full IM in '08, we'll see) . My budget is still restrictive, and so I'm looking for the best I can get for under $2000. I know... before you say it..... I can't get what I don't pay for. But 2-large is the limit.
So, in terms of a decent tri bike for under $2000, what do you think? Any front runners?
Thanks all.
Kev
p.s. gettting pumped for Ironman Newfoundland 70.3.... starting line is 1 km from by front door...woo-hoo
