I don't know about the rest of yall but here in Kansas City we have had a lot of winter type weather lately. Like two ice storms and some snow. I am too stubborn to let a measly 3 inches of solid ice keep me from running. However I don't enjoy falling a lot either. So here is my solution as well as the solution for my off-road ultrarunning buddies.

Screw your shoes... Check out this link to learn how. It is compliments of my other group of freinds at the Kansas City Trail Running Club. Runners and Triathletes can live in harmony :)

The race is just the finale to all of your training. Enjoy the celebration.

This looks like a good option too: (without destroying your shoes)

Personally I'd rather use these:

I have used your first link there--work pretty well and you dont ruin your shoes.

The YAKTRAX work well also. I'm cheap though and would rather spend $.75 instead of $30+.

I did this to my trail shoes with no problems at all. It didn't damage the tread or structure of the shoe either. To each their own. Just thought it might be helpful for those looking for a cheap fix.

The race is just the finale to all of your training. Enjoy the celebration.
