Has anyone out there used the Sports Express service that is listed on the USAT site to ship a bike? I'm curious about how that whole gig works and whether it is reliable from a customer equipment care standpoint. It seems like they run the pick up and drop off service but don’t do the actually shipping. It’s like they take the stuff to Fed Ex, DHL or UPS…which (HELLO!) I can do myself. But if they can guarantee some sort of special care of the parcel because of their account status with whoever the shipper is maybe they do offer some additional confidence. It does also bother me a little bit that when you go to their website sportsexpress.com that it is primarily about shipping golf clubs….Any thoughts?

I’ve used TriBike Transport in the past and love it, but trying to decide on how I’ll get my bike to other race destinations where TBT isn’t a possibility.

My advice would be to go to the LBS and get a bike shipping create. That will just eliminate the middle man...

I've used them to ship skis (I bought a pair and couldnt take two on the plane with me). They were really good, pick-up was prompt, they arrived ontime and I even got a phone call the day after to make sure that everything was okay and everything was in perfect condition. Never tried a bike though.
