Glycerol: benefits, risks, opinions

Who here has used Glycerol or whatever other hyperhydration methods?

I'd only recently heard of it. I read a favorable report in Triathlete magazine, but as I looked for more info, there seems to be a lot of concern, especially about Glycerol.

It seems like it would really throw off your body's own ability to maintain a healthy water balance. I've also heard that carbo-loading also increases our ability to store water. Hmmm.
