for a decent photo of my cycling form;
Obviously get someone else to take the photo or set it up on auto timer.
Set the camera up so it's about waist high and make sure you get all of you and the bike in the photo.
Take the picture of the right side of your body AND when your right foot/leg is in the 6 o'clock position. (try and take the picture while pedaling as it's the best way to get a real life idea of what your pedal stroke looks like.)
If you can't get it while pedaling, then just pedal for a while and then freeze (freewheel) when your right leg hits the 6 o'clock position.
Try and get into the position that you would ride/race in normally. Otherwise a fit critique is useless.
okay, i suckered my girlfriend into taking a photo. aside from my needing a shave, how's this look?

Considering thats a road bike fit, its not all that bad. If theres a spacer left under the stem, ya might wanna take it out. Also might wanna lower your seat a little bit. You dont wanna extend your leg more than 150 degrees for a good tri bike fit. If you ride road races and such, too, keep that seat where it is.
Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.
how do you ride on the hoods? They're positionned to far down to hang on to them with your hands.
is your seat scooted forward? I find that the aero bars pull me forward and I have to move my seat forward to compensate.
If you have a reversible stem, I'd consider flipping it so the handlebars bars sit lower and so your torso can sit a little more horizontal with the ground plane.
The first thing that popped out to me is that your arms are a bit past 90 degrees.
How do you feel in aero...does it feel a stretch at all? Do you know what length stem you have in there?
If you feel stretched out at all, does it feel better if you bring your forearms a little back - forget about the end of the aerobars and just move your arms...it'll feel a bit different with your weight on your forearms, but it's just seeing how the balance/stretch/general feel of having your arms back and in a 90 degree position feels.

hey guys, thanks for replying.
i didnt know about the 150 degrees for the legs. thanks for that.
i know the hoods seem really low, but when i built the handlebars i tried them all over the place, and strangely enough, thats the most comfortable for me. the stem is flippable, unfortunately with the canti brakes i have to keep the stem where it is or it will interfere with the brakes.
i havent done anything extremely long in the aero position- just an hour or so- but this seems fairly comfortable. i will try both moving the seat forward and focusing on a 90 deg. elbow angle on the next ride.
thanks a lot guys!

hey guys. i'd like to have someone look at my form in the aero position, and hoped to post a photo on this forum, so as to be critiqued. there's not many around my area that i know to ask for advice. is there anything specific that i would need to attend to to provide a useful photo?
