Training/Health Resolutions
1) Training smarter this year.
Dedicating to working at the correct intensity for the scheduled workout. I typically did the classic too hard on easy days and too easy on hard days. I also scheduled fewer races this year so as to not interfere so much with the training that I want to accomplish. The races that are scheduled at the 'right' times in my training plan.
2) Have more fun with racing/training
Scheduled a relay Sprint triathlon with my two daughters :D
3) Work on diet
Stay on track when traveling for work
4) The big goal for the year is similar to Tribro's - I am looking to do IMWI in 12H.
We'll hope for better weather this year! And will pack more cold/wet weather gear this year no matter what the forecast says!
Train Less, Win More.
I'll let you know how that one goes!
Speed Kills. Strength Punishes
Here is mine:
1. Try to not go to the hospital this year, at the age of 25 I have been to the hospital every single year with out fail because of some major injury. Last year I did an Oly distance race 2 days after getting hit by a car like a big idiot. Now I didn't go to the hospital when I got hit like I should have so I went out and raced on sunday (after being hit on friday) and barely crossed the finish line. So what this resolution means is to stop being so reckless...
2. Spend more time with my wife after the IM is over. With training being what it is now it's hard on my relationship.
3. Eat healthier, last year at this time I was 10lbs lighter than I am now.
Its good to see other people who actually make resolutions (and hopefully work on them!) So, for me:
1. Get faster on the bike (19-20 mph for a 70.3)
2. Learn and feel confident with general bike maintenence
3. Take and enjoy planned time off during the next 6 months of IM training
4. Get my sorry @$$ across the finish line in 13-hours at IM Austria
5. Be thankful every day for another year of being able to do this sport!
My blog: http://star.trifuel.net
1. Have fun at all my events, and finish with a smile.
(even if I have to force it)
2. Do some events with my kids this year
3. 3 marathons this year, try to improve my PR
(Boston Qualifying is only 3:20:rolleyes: )
4. 1 half IM
5. Chesapeake Man IM distance(improve my IM time too)
6. Turkey Swamp 50k
(to get me used to something slightly ultra)
7. JFK 50 miler
(trying out an Ultra)
8. Make new friends, and enjoy the company of existing friends.
9. Not take myself too seriously, and laugh a lot.
10. Stay healthy, train more, train smarter, and be happy!!
I typically do not make resolutions anymore, but I think in order to achieve my goals this year it is very pertinent to do so.
1. Do not work double shifts (2 x 8 hour shifts in a row) since they really screw up my training plan and make me too tired to follow it.
2. Train consistently with one day of complete rest a week, i.e. work on will power and that procrastination, sloth-like monster.
3. Increase my cycling speed.
4. Finish my first HIM at Pacific Crest.
5. Portland Marathon - PR
5. Stop talking about it and do it.
-Toni
The only thing we have to fear is fear itself. - FDR

Hyperactive Trifueler!!!! (I refuse to let the status go :p)
Mine are pretty much the same as everyone else's - eating better, training smarter, etc. I have my first oly this year - St. Anthony's - that's my main focus right now.

Happy New Years gang. Time to go through the exercise my father always sat me down to do as a kid. Write out those resolutions. I jotted some in my blog the other day but wanted to share here for more accountablility and to hear what you guys have planned for the year.
So:
- Workout more consistently. Skipped too many workouts on road to Ironman last year.
- Train smarter. Don't just put in the miles but make the workouts more focused.
- Eat better. On the list every year I'm afraid, but if I keep trying eventually I'll get there.
- Sub 12 at Ironman Wisconsin.
What's on your list?
