Feeling More Balanced And Strong When I Run

I took two days off from running, did some cross training in the interim, had a deep tissue massage yesterday, and have been feeling better.
Today I did a 6 miler, and felt some pain in my left groin area, but after about 1 or 2 minutes, the pain was gone. The massage therapist said I had some minor spasming, but no adhesions or micro-tears in the groin area , so she suggested heat. I had been having some weird, gait problems with my lateral hip, near the TFL, upper ITB, area. After the run, I feel a lot more balanced then I did before.
I don’t really plan on running much between now and Disney, but want to keep this feeling of balance. The only draw back in running is I have trouble making quick, lateral movements. I just don’t feel as free, or as loose as I normally do, because of all these quirks.
Is it possible that the slow, distance runs are actually making me stronger, as my running has been sporadic? Because on off-days, when I don’t run, I feel all out of balance. Yet when I run, its like it re-sets my balance.
Anyone know anything about this phenomena? Thanks!
