Questions about my heart rate

Matt - others will explain the whys but your experience with heart rate higher on the run than the bike is typical.

I am with V on this one your heart rate will always be a lot higher on the run. That is why the ride is so much londer then the run.

Ok, I need a little help. My heart rate on the run is much, much higher than on the bike. My comfortable run pace (about 8 minute pace) gives me a heart rate in the 170s, while my comfortable bike pace (around 20...who am I kidding, around 18mph) gives me a heart rate in the 140s. That's with a 80-90 rpm cadence. Is this normal? I can't even come close to spinning fast enough on the bike to get my heart rate up to 160 for any length of time, and if I slow my heart rate down on the run, my pace slows to around 10 minutes/mile. If this is normal, no worries I guess. Am I doing something wrong?
