Last Long Run Before Marathon
I would stick with the every other day schedule...It's working for you...and it's keeping you healthy! I finished a 50 miler last month and in fact just about finish all my marathons and ultras on 4 days running a week. Mind you...there are biking miles too but I just don't see a reason, during your taper, to run everyday! Your longs runs...spot on.
Looking forward to meeting you and see ya at Disney!

I'd generally keep the same running days/schedule you have, and just work on reduced volume and a few key quality workouts during the time...there's no need/reason to add anything while tapering.

Yea, thats a good point. Tonight, w/o ibuprofen or topical numbing gels, I have no lower back pain which I did last week. General muscle soreness after a long run, but nothing bad.
Will continue to stick to the schedule.

Are you icing after your long run?
I would definitely get in an ice bath to help with recovery, even on you next couple of runs of 10-12 miles.
You should be recovered for Disney.
See you there!!
Nothing to it, but to do it
I did my 22 on Sat as my last long run before Disney--it was a great excuse to get out of the dark, cold house and since we had a gas water heater I knew I could shower :) (power was off from Thursday night until Sunday night) .
I say keep up the every other day and just reduce mileage.
See you there!

Okay, so today I did my last long run before Disney. (21 miles)
Had some light sorness in old injury areas, but nothing bad. Not after run pain, and no limping or such, plus normal wear and tear.
The last two long runs (as it is a 3-week taper), are 12 and 10 respectively.
My peak mileage during this marathon training was about 45mpw. (due to cross training for injuries and such)
Normally, I would train closer to 55-60 mpw.I've been running every other day due to an injury rehab. Taking one full rest day every week.
Is it safe to run every day, given that my mileage will be reduced in the coming weeks?
The last four days before the marathon, I am doing some light walking, an maybe a light 2-3 mile jog on soft beach sand.
What would you guys advise for the last two weeks? Thanks!
